Limited edition silkscreen 'Roaring Forties' (1989), 70 x 100 cm, inspired by the Whitbread Round The World Race and the rough seas near Antarctica, depicting the challenges of nature faced by boats in the race, particularly the Spinnaker Reach at dawn.
The Whitbread Round The World Race is so different from the America’s Cup Race as now the boats have to fight also the forces of nature.

“Spinnaker Reach at Dawn and Roaring Forties are both my images I paint for the Whitbread Round The World Race.[…] What particularly inspired me was the rough see in the South of Argentina close to the Antarctic.”
