Painting of orchids titled 'Remembering Western Australia' (1996), featuring vibrant green foliage and white flowers, artwork dimensions 70x100 cm
While living in Fremantle (1986-1987), Franco got inspired by the wildflowers of Western Australia. From this period are, among others, Fiori per tutti (1987), Sour Grass (1987), Australian Wildflower (1987), Lupin (1987). Even on his stopover at the Raffles Hotel in Singapore, he got inspired by the orchids in its garden—Orchidea in Singapore (1990)—and his memories inspired him for several years: Eucalyptus (1993), Fiore australiano (1993), Remembering Western Australia (1996).
