Gigondas is a small city in the South of France. During frequent visits to Monaco and the South of France Franco got inspired by the Southern landscape and its wine regions. In this image the colours are in a beige scale ton sur ton. Several paintings are created picturing the light and the landscape from the South. Some of the first paintings with this item were “Aix-en-Provence” (1976) and “Mediterranee”.
