The diptych Flying with Joshoua (oil, 1982, 2 x 85 x 130 cm) was inspired by Franco’s Flying with Joshoua sculpture. The artwork reflects Franco’s Arte Vita philosophy, showcasing a deep connection between art and life. It originated from a photographic series featuring the Flying Together sculpture placed on the body of Joshoua. This dynamic interplay of sculpture and photography ultimately led to the creation of the diptych, blending the themes of flight, human connection, and artistic expression.
“We were just married and very much in love. This image and the ones of San Valentino are our very personal artworks.”
