Aix en Provence (1976)

Limited edition silkscreen, 55,5 x 39 cm

"Limited edition silkscreen print 'Aix en Provence' (1976) by Franco Costa, featuring a geometric and vibrant depiction of rooftops and structures under a bright yellow sky."
After the original in acrylic a series of 100/100 limited edition prints have been created depicting the village of Aix-en-Provence.
During frequent visits to Monaco and the South of France Franco got inspired by the Southern landscape and its wine regions. Several paintings are created picturing the light and the landscape from the South. Some of the first paintings with this item were “Gigondas” and “Mediterranee”.
“Some memories of the long periods of staying in the Provence inspired me to paint this artwork. It was the special light of the area that inspired me, like it did to many other artists before me.”
